Frequently Asked Questions

Do you prescribe medication or provide diagnoses?

No, I do not prescribe medication, diagnose mental health or educational conditions, or provide psychological or educational assessments. I refer to local clinicians specializing in these services.

Do you work with children?

I specialize in working directly with parents and caregivers. There may be times when it is appropriate and beneficial to involve children, particularly with PC-Care or to model play therapy or coping skills

Where should I start, if I'm choosing between therapy for my child and working

with a parenting coach?

In cases of trauma, ensuring the child has their own therapeutic resources is an essential component of treatment. In other cases, it is often most effective to begin by working with a skilled parenting professional since parents set the tone for the child's environment. Additionally, parents can have a huge impact on the child's skill development because parents can support skills practice between the child's therapy sessions.

Do you see families in person?

I use a HIPAA-compliant virtual clinic to meet with parents all over the world. In-person services are available in Baltimore and DC (extra fees apply).

Virtual and in-person workshops available, upon request.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

The Good Faith Estimate is a provision of the No Surprises Act which legally requires providers to supply uninsured and self-pay clients with estimates of expected charges for services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services. For more information, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
